Alex Mooney and his wife live in Charles Town in Jefferson County with their two children. Listening to his parents’ inspiring stories, Alex knew from a young age that he wanted to spend his life fighting for the American ideals set forth by our previous founding fathers. As a state senator from 1999-2010, Alex consistently fought for conservative fiscal and social values, including lower taxes, less government spending, protecting our Second Amendment rights, pro-life legislation, job creation and caring for our seniors.
As West Virginia’s congressman, Alex will fight to protect our values and make sure that our state continues to be a great place to raise a family. Alex believes that West Virginia is poised to be a leader in defending and promoting the all-American values of hard work, faith and freedom that have made our country great. With a proven record of fighting for conservative values, Alex ready to defend West Virginia from President Obama’s disastrous policies and encourage the job creation and prosperity West Virginia deserves.
Nick Casey is a West Virginian attorney and accountant that has previously served as the former chairman of the West Virginia Democratic Congress. Nick Casey strongly supports the plan that we need a government that gets past the petty partisan infighting and gets back to work for the American people. On the topic of infrastructure, Nick Casey believes that we must prioritize spending through a budget, cut waste, find savings, and apply that money to badly needed infrastructure projects here at home. He states that he will create good jobs, revitalize our economy, and pave the way for a brighter future.
Nick Casey says, "Energy gives us a tremendous opportunity to provide many more good-paying jobs and to keep our children in West Virginia...I will to work to make that happen." He hopes to create a plan that will use all of West Virginia's energy resources as cleanly and efficiently as possible. Having served as chair of a local hospital board, Nick Casey is already fully aware of the importance providing good, efficient healthcare. Congress needs to make sure veterans benefits are delivered on time without delays -that’s the bottom line.
When trying to decide on who to vote for, I would have to choose Nick Casey. He has lived in the state of West Virginia and worked here for many years, unlike Alex Mooney. He has very strong beliefs and values that will help shape our state. Many of his ideas show his good intentions to better the state and help us to reach our full potential.
